The Nashik District Chess Association played host to this thrilling spectacle, held at the serene Shankaracharya Nyas on Gangapur Road, where Diptayan showcased unparalleled brilliance and outplayed his rivals over both formats.

Directed by the astute Shri. Vinay Bele, President of the Nashik District Chess Association, and his dedicated team, which included Sunil Sharma (Secretary), Jayesh Bhandari (Treasurer), Dr. Sachin Vyavhare, Ajinkya Tarte, and Jayram Sonawane, the tournament witnessed a formidable gathering of 224 participants, including 11 Grandmasters and 55 titled players. Over 11 rounds of intense competition, the chess enthusiasts were treated to a symphony of moves and counter-moves, making this championship a true battleground of intellect.

Under the watchful eyes of Chief Arbiter IA Anantharam R and Deputy Chief Arbiter IA Guru Dayal Prajapati, the tournament maintained the highest standards of fairness and adherence to the rules. The prize fund of 2.5 lakhs added an extra layer of excitement to an already intense competition.

GM Ghosh Diptayan's strategic brilliance shone through, securing an impressive 9.5 points in both the Rapid and Blitz formats. His unparalleled performance not only earned him the title of National Rapid Champion but also the prestigious National Blitz Champion. The double triumph was accompanied by a total cash prize of 1.25 lakh/-, underlining his dominance on the chessboard.

The chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony, GM Pravin Thipsay, Maharashtra's First Grandmaster, graced the occasion and added a touch of grandeur to the celebration.
