Today's Class? Live from a Traffic Jam.

Yep, it just happened.

Everything was set for today’s session. I had prepped the content, planned the flow, and aimed to be there on time. But as we all know — life doesn’t always play by our schedule.

First, the parents came late to pick up their child. A small delay, nothing unusual.

But those few minutes were just enough for the city traffic to say: “Checkmate.”

Red lights. Endless cars. Zero movement. And me, stuck — watching the clock, knowing I wasn’t going to make it to the session location.

For a moment, I felt helpless. Should I cancel? Delay the class?

Then I reminded myself: Just like in chess, if your plan doesn’t work — make your next best move.

So, I parked safely. Pulled out my phone. And started the session. Right there, from the front seat of my car.

No desk. No quiet room. Just me, the dashboard, and a bunch of excited kids ready to learn chess.

And guess what? We had a great session. Not despite the chaos — but because we didn’t let it stop us.

Why was I late? Because life threw in a few extra moves today: a late pickup, followed by peak-hour traffic. But I still showed up — just in a different setting.

This moment is for: The teachers who teach from wherever they are. The students who log in with curiosity, not complaints. And the parents doing their best, even when the clock slips.

And what chess reminds me, always:

  • The game isn't about perfect starts — it’s about clever comebacks.

  • Stuck positions aren’t dead ends — they’re puzzles waiting to be solved.

  • And no matter where you are… if you’re thinking, teaching, growing — you’re already on the board.

Today, my classroom had a steering wheel. And honestly? That made it even more memorable.
